About Me
My name is Jeff Thompson and I’m a retired U.S. Navy veteran, a dad of two, and someone who’s spent a lot of time on the sidelines—both as a parent and behind the camera. Like a lot of people, I got into photography to capture moments of my own kids playing sports, and over time it turned into something I genuinely love doing.
My youngest just graduated from Warhill High School, so I really understand how quickly these years go by. That’s a big part of what drives me. The games, the seasons, the little moments in between—they don’t last long, but they matter forever.
I’ve been shooting for about 10 years now, but in the last couple of years I’ve really leaned into it. What I enjoy most is catching the stuff you might miss in real time—the intensity, the emotion, the split-second plays that tell the story of a game.
Being both a parent and a photographer gives me a different perspective. I’m not just trying to get a great shot—I’m trying to capture something that actually means something later on.
